Boca Raton’s ThriveForward Program for Young Adults Ages 19-26

Wellness Resource Center’s ThriveForward specialty track caters to young adults ages 19-26 who are struggling with mental health concerns and substance use disorders. These conditions can significantly hinder their ability to thrive, move forward, and find stability.

Through evidence-based modalities, life skills training, and personalized care, we strive to help young adults build resilience, confidence, and independence, empowering them to succeed in their homes, schools, and communities.

About Our ThriveForward Program in Boca Raton, Florida

ThriveForward is an add-on option to our intensive outpatient program (IOP) and partial hospitalization program (PHP). It allows young people to maintain their current program schedules while also taking part in focused support groups and activities.

This treatment track is led by our diverse team of professionals, which includes:

  • Psychiatrists
  • Certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNPs)
  • Nurses
  • Therapists
  • Care coordinators
  • Clinicians
  • Behavioral health associates (BHAs)
  • Master’s-level, trauma-informed counselors
  • Occupational, art, music, and movement therapists

Each staff member brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to helping our clients achieve both their short- and long-term goals.

Personalized Care for Young Adults

At Wellness Resource Center, we understand that every young adult is different and requires a tailored approach to care. For this reason, we complete a comprehensive assessment with each client to fully understand their mental and physical health needs. Based on the results of this assessment, we create a personalized care plan that outlines the therapies and services that may be most beneficial for them. These may include:

  • Individual therapy: In one-on-one sessions with a therapist, clients can talk openly about their feelings and address the root causes of their struggles.
  • Group therapy: Clients can take part in group sessions, where they can interact with peers, share their experiences, and receive encouragement, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
  • Family therapy: Recognizing the importance of family involvement in the treatment process, we invite family members to join their loved ones in therapy sessions. With the support of a therapist, they can enhance their communication skills and strengthen their relationships.
  • Evidence-based practices: Our team uses proven therapeutic methods, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing, to help our clients achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Medication management services: Clients can receive necessary and ongoing medication management services, which are provided by our psychiatrists and medical support staff.

Specialized Groups in the ThriveForward Track

In the ThriveForward track, we offer specialized groups to guide young people toward academic, professional, and personal success. We provide support in the following areas:

  • School liaison services: We help young people manage their academic status by handling school absences and coordinating reentry processes.
  • Educational resources: By working closely with educational institutions, we can provide young people with the necessary resources to achieve their academic goals.
  • Career development: Clients also have opportunities to participate in college or vocational courses while receiving treatment, enhancing their career prospects.
  • Life skills training: Our team teaches young people essential skills, such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and grocery shopping, to promote independent living.
  • Employment readiness: We help clients seek and secure employment through resume building, interview preparation, and job search assistance, giving them the tools they need to enter or return to the workforce confidently.

Features & Benefits of Our ThriveForward Program

When a young person takes part in our ThriveForward program, they can benefit from the following key features:

  • Integration with regular programming: Young people spend about 80% of their time in their regular IOP or PHP sessions, with the remaining 20% dedicated to ThriveForward groups. This allows them to stay on track with their treatment goals while receiving targeted support for their specific needs.
  • Emotion regulation and behavioral therapies: We use evidence-based therapies to help clients develop coping skills, manage overwhelming emotions, and make meaningful changes.
  • Continuous support: Young people have 24/7 access to our trained clinicians and behavioral health associates, who can address any immediate or ongoing concerns.
  • Mentor program: Clients are paired with mentors who have successfully navigated their own path to healing. These mentors can provide positive feedback and share valuable insights, helping young adults stay motivated and committed to their progress.

Additionally, we incorporate family-centered care to involve loved ones in the treatment process. Before a client begins our program, we conduct a preadmission family survey to better understand the family’s dynamics. Using this information, we tailor the program to meet the needs of both the client and their loved ones. Families may benefit from:

  • Family systems therapy: This therapy focuses on rebuilding trust, improving communication, and resolving conflicts, fostering healing within the family unit.
  • Family support groups: Families also have the opportunity to join support groups, where they can connect with others who are going through similar experiences.

Through this well-rounded approach, we aim to support clients and their families, promoting active engagement, collective growth, and lasting well-being.
